art faces - Künstlerporträts aus der Sammlung Würth

From September 26th 2008 until May 3rd 2009 the Kulturforum Würth is showing the exhibition " art faces - Künstlerporträts aus der Sammlung Würth "A portrait introduces us to a character, from whom we only know their works. If writer, musician, painter or sculptor - after seeing the work we get curious of the human, who made this. Which personality hides behind that work? We expect from a photo to answer that question." (Erika Billeter) The names of the portraits is not just read like the Who's Who of the art scene, they also reflect the Collection Würth: from Aristide Maillol to Picasso, George Braque, Piet Mondrian, Salvador Dali to the painters of the Ecole de Paris like Serge Poliakoff or Sonia Delaunay and from there to the German Painter Georg Baselitz and Gerhard Richter as well as the american photografer Cindy Sherman.
